What is Podiatry?
Podiatrists are health care professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They also prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections. Whilst podiatric surgeons are not registered medical practitioners (medical doctors), they are Fellows of the College of Podiatric Surgery and are dedicated foot surgeons.
Here at London Foot & Ankle Specialists we offer a complete podiatry service to prevent and treat a range of conditions associated with feet and lower limbs. Our podiatrists are experts at assessing gait and biomechanics to find lasting solutions to problems that come from injury, exercise or daily activities.
Podiatrists at London Foot & Ankle Specialists usually work in partnership with consultant orthopaedic surgeons or through the physiotherapy department. They ensure each patient is thoroughly assessed; diagnosed and optimum treatment is selected.
